Nixon “Nix” Lauridsen is a Des Moines, Iowa executive who led the Lauridsen Group (LGI) as CEO for many years. LGIs corporate roots were as an early 20th century creamery that sold poultry, eggs, and butter in the Dedham community. In the mid-1970s, Nixon Lauridsen partnered with his father Wally in expanding operations to focus on dairy and meat byproducts, with an emphasis on adding significant value to food, animal, medical, and aquaculture industries.
Today, LGI encompasses a half dozen independent companies led by Nix Lauridsen’s daughter Christine, spanning 60 facilities around the globe. Among these is Proliant Dairy Ingredients, which offers highest quality deliverables to manufacturers of food and feed products.
Nix Lauridsen has a strong commitment to giving back and has helped fund the Lauridsen Amphitheater, a setting for outdoor cultural events at Water Works Park. The expansive green space is known for its ornamental crabapple arboretum and providing drinking water to more than 500,000 central Iowans. Mr. Lauridsen holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin, and a JD from the University of Iowa.
